Strategist Roberto Mancini would hit Mario Balotelli on the head every day if he were his teammate.
Joking with journalists, the specialist admitted that he understands footballers whose immature behavior at the age of 21 causes annoyance.
"I told him that if we had played together 10 years ago, I probably would have hit him on the head every day," smiled Mancini. "We certainly don't talk every day, otherwise I would quickly need a psychologist. But we communicate because I don't want him to lose his abilities.
"If Mario doesn't become one of the best players in the world, it will be his own fault. He has everything to be one of the best in Europe, so I certainly don't want to see talent wasted."
Mancini also added that Balotelli's actions are often exaggerated in the media. It was reported that he had a fight with defender Kolo Toure during the match against Sunderland, but this was denied.
"There are people who always think very badly of people like Mario. So, whenever something happens, a real war breaks out. It is ignored that there are plenty of others who behave even worse - there is not as much discussion about them," Mancini said.
