Coach Roberto Mancini assures that he has laid the foundation for the club's future victories, but admits he is not sure if he will have the opportunity to lead the team next season.
In the English championship, with seven games left to play, Mancini's proteges surrendered the top spot to the "Man Utd" team, trailing by 5 points.
"As a team, as players, and as a club, we have improved significantly," said Mancini. "But when you choose such a job, you have to understand that anything can happen at any time, so it's not a problem for me."
With Mancini, "Man City" won their first trophy in 35 years - last season they lifted the English Football Association (FA) Cup. However, it is rumored that if they do not win the national championship, the owner from Qatar, Khaldoon Al Mubarak, may start looking for a new specialist.
"My relationship with Khaldoon is fantastic. I can say that even if he fires me after the season or sometime later, working with him will be a huge success for any coach. He is a truly great person," the Italian said.
The strategist also did not lose optimism that they can catch up with "Man Utd": "If they win all the remaining seven games, then I congratulate them, the triumph will be deserved. But seven games is a lot, so a lot can still happen. We lost four points in two rounds - the same could happen to them as well."
