During the Spanish Championship match on Sunday between [teams], Venezuelan national team player Fernando Arango collided for the ball with Sevilla defender Javi Navarro, lost consciousness, and was taken to the hospital.
"The player suffered a strong impact and is still unconscious, but his condition is stable," said a hospital representative where Arango was taken. "More information should be available on Monday morning."
Arango collapsed unconscious after the collision with Navarro during the battle for the ball. The 24-year-old player on the ground started having convulsions and the medical staff carried him off to the hospital.
Navarro received a yellow card for this incident.
