On Easter Sunday, in the Spanish championship, the "Levante" club won their fourteenth victory of the season, defeating Madrid's "Atletico" 2-0 in front of their own fans.

The hosts took the lead less than a minute into the game, with defender Valdo scoring his fourth goal of the season.

In the tenth minute of the match, forward Arouna Kone doubled the lead, his 12th goal in the Spanish league, while the visitors' hopes of at least equalizing were dashed in the 83rd minute when Miranda received two yellow cards in a little over 10 minutes and was sent off the field.

After this victory, "Levante" (48 points) temporarily overtook "Malaga" and returned to fourth place in the standings. Meanwhile, "Atletico" (42 points) is in seventh place.
