On Wednesday, eight matches were played in the Italian championship.
Turin's Juventus club returned to first place in the standings, narrowly defeating Rome's Lazio 2-1.
The first goal came after half an hour of play - it was scored by Juventus midfielder Simone Pepe, but just before the break, the score was equalized by Stefano Mauri. Juventus' victory was sealed by the old veteran Alessandro Del Piero, who scored an impressive penalty in the 82nd minute, leaving no chance for the opponents' goalkeeper.
Furthermore, Lazio finished the match in a disadvantage, as twice cautioned Libor Kozak was sent off the field during added time by the referee.
