"General Financing A lyga" sixth round match will take place in Gargzdai between Marijampole's "Suduva" and "Bangos" team. The match will take place on April 14th, Saturday, at 17:00. "Banga" started the 2012 season tough - they earned only two points in 5 rounds. In the first round, they lost 1:2 at home to Vilnius "Zalgiris", in the second round they played a draw away with "Dainava", in the third - a draw at home against "Reo", and later followed two losses by a minimal score to "Atlantas" and "Kruoja". Looking at the results, it can be said that "Banga" can earn points against any opponent, despite the losses in the first rounds. The capable clubs of "Zalgiris" and "Kruoja" only managed to beat the Gargzdai team by a minimal lead. In the 2011 season, "Banga" finished sixth in the "General Financing A Lyga". The Gargzdai team met "Suduva" three times. "Suduva" won both away matches with results 1-0 and 2-0, but lost to "Banga" on their own field. Before this season, the composition of "Bangos" changed significantly - more than 10 players left the team. In addition, the head coach of the team changed - instead of Arminas Narbekovas, his former assistant Vaidotas Žutautas now leads the team. Important players who left "Banga" are defenders Karolis Urbaitis (now playing for "Zalgiris"), Irmantas Zelmikas ("Kruoja"), Marius Kazlauskas ("Reo"), goalkeeper Gajus Kulbis, and Rimvydas Grūdys. The departed players were replaced by newcomers. The most famous of them is former Lithuanian national team player Andrius Jokšas. Also, former Marijampole's "Suduva" player Evaldas Grigaitis competes in Gargzdai. The team was also strengthened by goalkeeper Rimantas Bogužas, defenders Rokas Borusas, Niko Mgeladze, midfielders Armando Dos Santos, Romanas Masiukas, and Moshe Suleimanovas, as well as forward Giorgi Nikabadze. Before the start of the 2012 season, "Banga" did not set very high goals. The main goal was to stay in the A lyga and, if possible, to finish in sixth place."
