Before the match with "Šiauliai," Žalgiris coach Damiras Petravičius says he hopes for his team's advantage, but that will need to be proven on the field.

The Vilnius City Football Club "Žalgiris" team is heading to Šiauliai on Wednesday to try and defeat the home team who have been on a streak of failures.

In the 6th round of the "General Financing A League," the future opponents of Žaligiris were warmly welcomed in Vilnius by the local REO club. The visitors, after a fierce battle, awarded the first victory in the country's strongest championship to the debuting REO team with a result of 3:1. After the match, Šiauliai's assistant coach Tomas Kančelskis said: "It is hard to find good words. We played tragically in defense, and also did not take advantage of opportunities in attack."

After the victories in the first two rounds against Klaipėda's "Atlantas" (3:0) and Pakruojis' "Kruoja" (2:1), the Šiauliai team fell into a true streak of failures. In the third round, they suffered a hopeless defeat against Marijampolė's "Sūduva" (1:4), and later lost by a minimal margin to Panevėžys' "Ekranas" (0:1) and Tauragė's "Tauras" (0:1). The defeat against REO team extended the losing streak to four. The Šiauliai team will try to break the long losing streak in the match against Žalgiris.

Vilnius City Football Club "Žalgiris" gave their fans another victory last weekend. The Žalgiris team, playing at home, defeated Tauragė's "Tauras" players who tried to resist fiercely throughout the match with a score of 2:0. In this match, four key players of the main squad got a chance to rest: Vaidotas Šilėnas, Mantas Kuklys, Andrėjus Nagumanovas, and Marius Rapalis.

Žalgiris head coach Damiras Petravičius often attends Šiauliai team's matches. The football specialist noted that this team plays much better at home, so it should not be easy.

"I watched the last three matches of the Šiauliai team. Although they lost all of them, I think the quality of the game was not very bad. We should not pay attention to Šiauliai's failures because they will not give away easy points at their stadium. If we play without concentration, we will have serious problems. The players understand that these will be very important matches for us, so they are preparing responsibly. I think we are a better team, but it will need to be proven on the field," said VMFD "Žalgiris" strategist Damiras Petravičius.

Legendary Lithuanian footballer and current coach Arminas Narbekovas is particularly interested in the upcoming match between the Vilnius and Šiauliai teams.

"The play of Šiauliai and their loss to the REO team surprised me, as this is a not badly assembled team that showed good performance in the preparation stage. On Wednesday, Šiauliai will not have anywhere to retreat, so a battle is expected where every corner of the field will be exploited," says A. Narbekovas eagerly awaiting the interesting match.

The stability of the VMFD "Žalgiris" team and Calum Elliot's exceptional abilities leave a big impression on the coach.

"Žalgiris" is a stable team with many good footballers. It is very good that the coaches trust the players and can rotate them," says A. Narbekovas. "Žalgiris' forward Calum Elliot is a player who can determine the outcome of the match. We saw that in the matches against Pakruojis' "Kruoja" and Gargždai's "Bangla." This forward has a certain nose for goals. He can do his job "from scratch.""
