Before the match with "Šiauliai," Žalgiris coach Damiras Petravičius says he hopes for his team's advantage, but that will need to be proven on the field.
The Vilnius City Football Club "Žalgiris" team is heading to Šiauliai on Wednesday to try and defeat the home team who have been on a streak of failures.
In the 6th round of the "General Financing A League," the future opponents of Žaligiris were warmly welcomed in Vilnius by the local REO club. The visitors, after a fierce battle, awarded the first victory in the country's strongest championship to the debuting REO team with a result of 3:1. After the match, Šiauliai's assistant coach Tomas Kančelskis said: "It is hard to find good words. We played tragically in defense, and also did not take advantage of opportunities in attack."
After the victories in the first two rounds against Klaipėda's "Atlantas" (3:0) and Pakruojis' "Kruoja" (2:1), the Šiauliai team fell into a true streak of failures. Legendary Lithuanian footballer and current coach Arminas Narbekovas is particularly interested in the upcoming match between the Vilnius and Šiauliai teams.
