On March 23, the board of the National Football Clubs Association, meeting in Kaunas, decided to adjust the schedule of the 2005 "A League" championship and postpone the start of the competition by nine days, as announced in the NFKA press release.
It was decided to organize the first round of the championship on April 12, and on April 3 and 9, the LFF Cup quarterfinal matches will take place, which can be held in unlicensed stadiums.
This decision was influenced by the extremely poor weather conditions and unsatisfactory quality of the fields. Furthermore, the future participants of the league are still unclear as four clubs - Klaipėda's "Atlantas," Vilnius' "Žalgiris," "Šilutė," and Kėdainiai's "Nevėžis" - have not yet received licenses.
