The team of Vilnius "Granitas" unexpectedly became the leader in the first round of the Lithuanian Football Federation (LFF) I league after winning the second round match against one of the favorites, "Nevėžis", away. After this round, only one team remained undefeated - Kuršėnai's "Venta", which was defeated by the NFA team.
In the middle of the week, "Granitas" defeated the NFA team in the rescheduled match, and unexpectedly achieved their second victory in Kėdainiai, despite "Nevėžis" taking the lead twice. The Vilnius team quickly equalized the score both times, and Erikas Milašauskas scored the winning goal in the 74th minute - 3:2.
In second place remained the "Trakai" team, but also unexpectedly lost 0-1 to the "Palanga" team in Vilnius. The only goal of the match was scored by Aivaras Lukošius for the visitors.
Aside from "Palanga", the first victories were also achieved by "Lietava", who won 1-0 away against "Polonija" after a beautiful goal by Aurimas Mockus, and "Kėdainiai", who surrendered at home to "Šilutė" with the same score after playing nine minutes with the same result.
The most impressive victory and the biggest win in the last two seasons was achieved by the National Football Academy team. They defeated Kuršėnai's "Venta" 10-1. Tadas Lekeckas scored three goals for the winners and became the league's top scorer alongside Mykolas Krasnovskis.
On Wednesday, NFA will play away against "Kėdainiai" in another rescheduled match, and the third round will take place next weekend.
