Arvydas Novikovas, who scored the first goal of the season in the Scottish football championship, almost suffered an injury out of joy.

After an impressive strike, the 21-year-old Edinburgh Hearts midfielder wanted to celebrate it in an equally impressive way, but his attempt to do a flip in the air almost ended in disaster.

"The first jump was bad, and before the second one, I got scared of David Templeton, who was too close. I promise to do everything correctly next time if I score," Novikovas told the Scottish media.

His goal was not only spectacular—confusing the opponent with a long shot into the top corner—but also significant, as Hearts secured a 2-2 draw with Dundee United.

"This was probably the best goal of mine in official matches. I have scored some great goals in friendly matches, but this one was really good. Getting off the bench, trying to change the course of the game, and I succeeded," added Novikovas.

However, despite the draw, Hearts (48 points) remained sixth in the Scottish championship, trailing Dundee United (53 points) by 4 points.
