Highest average salaries in Barcelona, Real, and Man City clubs © EuroFootball.com

The average team salary remains the highest in the sports world, surpassing the indicators of Madrid in second place, according to the "Sporting Intelligence Global Sports Salaries Survey."

The average salary of a main Barcelona team football player is almost 124 thousand euros per week or 6.4 million euros per year. This result is 10% higher than in previous years.

Real players, on the other hand, pocket an average of 111 thousand euros per week or 5.8 million euros per year. The figures increased by 6%.

In third place is the wealthy Manchester City. The salary at the Arab-owned English club is 106 thousand euros per week or 5.5 million euros per year. These figures have increased by as much as a quarter.

Interestingly, the highest-paid league remains the National Basketball Association (NBA) in the United States, where players' average salary reaches 62.4 thousand euros.

Meanwhile, in the Spanish football leagues, there is a significant gap between the highest-paid players and those who earn the least - the ratio is as high as 22.81 to 1. This is one of the reasons why Barcelona and Real have no competitors on the tournament table.
