This week was not lacking in very important football matches, after which football players shared quite a few interesting messages, photos not published anywhere else, and simply shared their thoughts with their fans about one event or another on social media. The Eurofootball.com portal reviews the most interesting messages, statements, and photos of football players from the past week posted on the social network "Twitter."

On Monday, football fans around the world were captivated by the media-hyped match known as the most important Manchester derby of all time at the "Etihad" stadium between the "Manchester City" and "Manchester United" clubs.

Before the match, several football players posted messages about the upcoming English football giants' battle. For example, Cesc Fabregas, who has spent a significant part of his career at London's "Arsenal" club and now defends the honor of the "Barcelona" team, just a few hours before the start of the match, expressed his anticipation for the Manchester City derby: "Today, probably, the fate of the Premier League title will be decided. Friends, what do you think, who will win?"

And immediately in another message, C. Fabregas expressed his opinion about the upcoming match: "I think 'City' is currently in better form and therefore 'United' will have a hard time. However, the latter are more experienced, and experience is extremely important in such matches. As a football fan, I can't wait for these matches."

"City" celebrated victory at home and took a serious step towards the Premier League champions' title. Meanwhile, at the "Etihad" stands, one could see a host of first-rate celebrities. One of them is the Argentine football legend and current head coach of the "Al Wasl" club in the United Arab Emirates, Diego Maradona.

About this special guest, the football development manager at "Manchester City," Patrick Vieira, posted on his "Twitter" profile. In a message accompanied by a photo, P. Vieira wrote: "Today a special guest visits the 'Etihad' stadium."

It is no secret that the famous rock group "Oasis" former leader Liam Gallagher ardently supports the "Manchester City" club, so it's no wonder that he was also at the "Etihad" stadium. The scorer of the winning goal, Vincent Kompany, after the match posted a photo with the famous singer and wrote this message: "Ladies and gentlemen - Liam Gallagher. He watched the match with my family, and it was explosive!"

Sergio Aguero summed up his impressions of the match in 4 posts, thanking his teammates but also reminding that the championship is not yet won and work needs to be completed until the end of the season: "It is a great honor to play with such footballers who do everything for the team's victory. We knew we had to be resolute in these matches.

We constantly pursued our goal and without any doubt - we deserved the victory. Now we can't let go of this opportunity. I also want to thank our fans - you motivated us throughout the match. Keep going!"

While some rejoiced in victory, others were left to mourn and hope that their main rivals would lose points in the remaining two season matches. "Manchester United" goalkeeper David De Gea's message clearly showed sadness, but the Spaniard promised to fight until the end of the season: "We will continue to fight until the season is over."

It was announced on Tuesday that Roy Hodgson would be the head coach of the English national team. Throughout the season, recovering from injury, London's "Arsenal" midfielder Jack Wilshere welcomed this decision by the football federation and hoped that in the future he could help the English national team in important matches: "Not everyone has as much experience as Roy Hodgson. He's proven he can work at the highest level, so I don't see any reason why he couldn't do it with the English national team. In my opinion, it's a good choice. And I hope I can be helpful to him in the future."

After a somewhat calmer Tuesday, Wednesday awaited another great day for football fans. Everyone could choose according to their taste - in Spain, the final point in the championship was put by the Madrid "Real" club, who won away against Athletic Bilbao and secured the La Liga champions title. Meanwhile, in England, there was a fierce battle between the "Chelsea" and "Newcastle" teams. Both teams did not hide their ambition to fight for a place in the top four of the Premier League table, which provides the opportunity to play in the UEFA Champions League next season.

The "Real" players did not say much. Both Esteban Granero and Cristiano Ronaldo, after their messages, at the center of which was the only word "champions," posted photos with moments of triumph.

Meanwhile, Brazilian Kaka thanked fans, God, and everyone who was with the "Real" club in a championship message. "We are champions!! Congratulations to everyone who was part of this spectacle. Another title. Thank you, Lord!"

Manchester United star Wayne Rooney also spent the evening with football. At first, the English national team striker was amazed by Papiss Cisse's fantastic goal against "Chelsea": "Wow. Just saw Cisse's goal. In my opinion, the best goal of the season."

After a few moments, Rooney congratulated his former teammate in the "Red Devils" squad, Cristiano Ronaldo, with the title of Spanish champions. "Congratulations to the Madrid 'Real' club and Ronaldo on the first La Liga champions title."

It seems that J. Wilshere chose to watch the match between the "Bolton" and "Tottenham" teams. After a superb goal by Luka Modric, the "Arsenal" midfielder was surprised: "Have the rules of football changed? And now you can play with your hands? Interesting. Although, the shot is not bad..."

After such a statement, J. Wilshere received several cheeky responses urging him to shut up and learn from the Croat how to play football.
