In the Sunday matches of the English Premier League, seven games were played.

Manchester City are measuring themselves for the crown of the English Premier League - excellent goals from Yaya Toure led to a particularly important victory of Roberto Mancini's students 2-0 against Newcastle.

It means that the Manchester team, with one round left until the end of the season, has the same number of points as the second-placed Manchester United, who also won 2-0 against Swansea. Manchester City occupies the first place due to an eight-goal advantage in goal difference, as both teams have collected the same number of points, this criterion is decisive.

Newcastle successfully held off Manchester City attacks for over an hour, but in the 70th minute goalkeeper Tim Krul was left with no chance by an impressive long-range strike from Yaya Toure. After this episode, the hosts' game collapsed and the visitors could have doubled their lead, but Sergio Aguero, one-on-one against the goalkeeper, shot wide, and Yaya Toure fell in a similar episode in a level position.

Nevertheless, the same Toure scored his second goal at the end of the match, securing the victory with a clever close-range shot.

In the last round, Manchester City will host London's Queens Park Rangers, while Manchester United will play away against Sunderland.
