Over the weekend, the Netherlands football championship came to an end.

The champion Amsterdam "Ajax" achieved an impressive fourteenth consecutive victory, defeating "Vitesse" 3-1.

In the Champions League next season, Rotterdam's "Feyenoord" team will also compete, having beaten "Heerenveen" 3-2 for a ticket to the Europa League and surpassing Eindhoven's PSV, who finished third.

Competing for an additional Europa League spot will be NEC, "Vitesse", "RKC Waalwijk", and Enschede's "Twente", while VVV and "De Graafschap" will battle to stay in the top league.

Relegated to the lower division is the team "Excelsior", finishing in the last place.

The top scorer of the championship became Bas Dost from "Heerenveen", scoring 32 goals in 34 matches and surpassing "Twente" leader Luuk de Jong who scored 25 times.
