The Real Madrid player Royston Drenthe, who is currently on loan to Everton, claimed that Lionel Messi, who is considered the best footballer in the world, constantly insulted him during last season's matches when the black Dutchman was still playing for Hercules.

"I had to play against him many times and there were always problems. It hurt me the most when the Argentine kept calling me 'black'. I understand that this word is used very often in South America, but it is still not justified," complained the defender and midfielder capable of playing in various positions.

"M. Diarra, the former teammate at Real Madrid, would simply go crazy hearing similar expressions. In training sessions at the royal club, Gabriel Heinze and Gonzalo Higuain also used this word, but they were stopped.

"When I was still representing Hercules, Messi shook my hand before the match, but during the encounter he said 'hello, negre' several times," said R. Drenthe.
