O.Martinsas: Racism in Russia is not more entrenched than in other countries (PHOTO) © EuroFootball.com

Kazan's Rubin forward Obafemi Martins is surprised - he has not encountered any racist attacks since 2010, when he signed a contract with the Russian club.

"I think manifestations of racism are everywhere and I don't think Russia is exceptional in any way. No one has attacked me, and unlike in England, I can walk wherever I want.

There was only one attempt to provoke my friend and brother into a fight, but they didn't understand what those people were talking about," Martins said.

The 27-year-old Nigerian's contract with Rubin is valid until the summer of 2013.

Africa's words would probably not be agreed upon by Anzhi's representative Roberto Carlos, who was pelted with bananas by Samara football fans in Russian league matches a year ago.
