Luis Enrique, who led the team for just one season, is stepping down from his coaching duties.
The 42-year-old specialist took on the job last summer when he arrived from the Barcelona club, but he failed to achieve good results. The capital team is currently in seventh place in the standings and has no hope of securing a spot in the Champions League.
"We knew for some time that Luis would leave," said Roma director Franco Baldini. "We talked for a long time after the match with Fiorentina on April 25, and that's when he expressed his intentions. We value his work positively."
On Saturday, in the last round of the Serie A season, Roma, who have only won once in their last seven matches, will play against Cesena.
