London coach Harry Redknapp denies rumors that the club agreed to sell defender Gareth Bale to the team for 40 million euros.
Reports in the Spanish press have suggested that the 22-year-old full-back from Wales will play in Catalonia next season.
However, Redknapp was adamant: "There is not a grain of truth to that. If we don't keep our best players, what awaits us? We might as well forget about the Champions League in the future."
It is still unclear whether the London team will secure a spot in the most prestigious European club tournament next season. To do so, they would need to beat London's Fulham in the final round of the national championship.
However, the situation could be complicated by Chelsea's triumph in the Champions League final against Bayern Munich. In that case, Chelsea, which will finish outside the top five in the tournament table, would automatically secure a place in the Champions League and take it away from the team occupying the fourth position in the tournament table.
It should be noted that Tottenham could finish third if they win, while Arsenal could stumble against West Brom.
