Raul, leaving Gelsenkirchen, signed a one-year contract with Qatar's "Al Sadd" club. This news should be officially confirmed at Sunday's press conference.
The 34-year-old veteran negotiated for a long time for a new contract with "Schalke", but they couldn't come to an agreement.
"My future will not be in Europe, where the football level is slightly lower than in Germany," Raul recently said. "Leaving 'Schalke' is not easy - I played two amazing seasons here, so this team will have a place in my heart."
The striker, who spent sixteen years in Madrid's "Real" team, arrived in Gelsenkirchen in 2010 and scored 40 goals in 96 matches.
