In the Lithuanian championship, two matches of the twelfth round were played on Sunday.
The second-placed Vilnius "Žalgiris" suffered an unexpected defeat, losing 0-2 to Pakruojis "Kruoja" in front of their own fans. After these matches, the capital team is now five points behind the leader Panevėžys "Ekranas".
However, the third-placed Marijampolė "Sūduva" failed to take advantage of this, dramatically letting victory slip from their grasp in a match against "Šiauliai" - which ended in a 3-3 draw.
Virginijus Liubšys' team was leading 3-1 until the 88th minute, but then conceded two goals and had to settle for a draw, falling 5 points behind "Žalgiris".
