Tens of thousands of fans greeted the team with the triumph in the English Premier League.
An open bus travelled through the streets of Manchester, and later the footballers gathered in one of the squares, where they thanked the supporters.
Italian Roberto Mancini's pupils won the trophy for the first time since 1968, and the coach, speaking to the crowd about the dramatic last moments of the season in the match with London's Queens Park Rangers, said: "Those five minutes were both the worst and the best in our lives. They won this victory for you."
Interestingly, Carlos Tevez at one point held a poster on the bus with the inscription "RIP, Fergie", which, according to the abbreviation "Rest in Peace", means "Rest in peace, Fergie". This is an allusion to coach Sir Alex Ferguson.
