The composition of the England national team for the European Championship starting in June has been announced. Liverpool striker Andy Carroll has earned a spot in Coach Roy Hodgson's list of 23 players, despite not having had a particularly successful club season, while Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand will watch the tournament from home. The opportunity to debut for the national team will be given to Norwich goalkeeper John Ruddy and young Arsenal midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain from London.
