Vilnius team "Žalgiris" on Sunday in Marijampolė won the LFF Cup for the first time since 2003. In the match that ended without any goals, Damir Petravičius's players defeated the defending champions Panevėžys "Ekranas" in a penalty shootout and celebrated their first trophy of the season.

The main time and extra time ended without any goals, so the teams had to determine the winner in a penalty shootout.

Luck was on the side of the Vilnius team: Ramūnas Radavičius, Aurimas Kūčys, and Yani Urdinovas failed to score against Armantas Vitkauskas, the goalkeeper of Panevėžys, while only Mario Grgurovičius from Žalgiris missed the target.
