It's hard to say anything after such a match, but after some time, smarter thoughts arise, rather than just "how could this happen".

Impressions:

1. Drogba. A buffalo became a hero for one evening. It is not easy for anyone to spend 120 minutes against one of the best offenses in the world and still think about their offensive play. Drogba was one of the few "Chelsea" players who showed some effort to attack when "Bayern" attacked mercilessly.

Finally, he became a hero as he equalized the result and even scored the crucial penalty. But when it comes to playing in his penalty area, the hero turns back into an awkward buffalo who can perform an unnecessary and inelegant move in the penalty area. It could have cost dearly, but Cech saved the situation. Drogba was lucky, as he could have killed his team in the semi-finals as well. It's the price "Chelsea" paid for their super defensive tactics, but with a brilliant goalkeeper, they can afford to take such risks.

2. Cech. Played a brilliant match. Although before important Champions League matches he heard a lot of criticism, he showed that his best times are now, not in the past. "Napoli", "Benfica", and "Barcelona" posed many problems, and the Saturday thriller was the biggest challenge in the Czech's career. Three shots saved, guessed the direction of the shot 6 times. Simply brilliant.

3. Mata. The first such important match in his club career was not very impressive. However, he was one of those who, despite unsuccessful attempts in attack, contributed to the fact that the "Bayern" team no longer seemed as fresh and could not press the English as strongly. He did not have a hundred percent chance, created a few good opportunities for his teammates, and effectively found Drogba from a corner. Did not score a penalty, but in general did a lot to loosen the noose around "Chelsea's" neck. Expecting more from a young player in such matches would be difficult, but undoubtedly the future of "Chelsea" belongs to him.

4. Muller. He had believed in his role as a hero already, but reality was different. In this personally quite half-hearted season, in his decisive match, he played a fantastic game after a long break. He had many opportunities, was one of the most active "Chelsea" attackers. No matter how good the "Chelsea" defense was, he waited for his moment and did everything to go down in history. But Drogba did even more...

5. di Matteo. Of course, comparing AVB's romanticism and Di Matteo's pragmatism, it can be said that the current "Chelsea" became boring and uninspiring in a few months and a poor version of catenaccio. However, when football romance does not bring titles, it must be acknowledged that di Matteo is generally brilliant.

Instead of building a hobbit-like team from giants, he simply adapted the tactics to the team. The current "Chelsea" simply does not have the resources to play attacking football because the forward line, famous for their names, is hopeless with their current abilities. Therefore, a pragmatic intelligent football won, where only the one who now demonstrates a bearable form and is suitable for the starting lineup according to the team's tactical scheme plays in attack, and all other 10 better or worse know how to defend.
