Legendary Franz Beckenbauer insists that in football there should remain penalty shootout from 11 meters.

The former captain of the German national team and Bayern Munich leads the expert group "FIFA Task Force," which provides recommendations for rule changes.

A few days ago, FIFA president Sepp Blatter urged Beckenbauer to find an alternative to penalty shootouts, as "the essence of football disappears" through them. The main argument of the Swiss was that the end of a match cannot be decided in 1 vs. 1 duels, because football is a team sport.

However, Beckenbauer is not convinced: "Penalty shootouts bring a lot of emotions and are much more attractive than, for example, tossing a coin."
