In the 14th round match of Pakruojis "Kruoja" A League in Gargzdai ended in a 1:1 (1:1) draw with "Banga". The guests scored a goal by the most effective player of the team, Sergėjus Žygalovas.

Strikers' goals

The match started actively with "Kruoja" pressing the opponents. Eventually, they managed to reach their goal – in the 27th minute S. Žygalovas scored. He ran alone against "Banga" goalkeeper Vitalijus Myrnas and put the guests ahead (1:0).

Later, S. Žygalovas, who played actively, had a couple more chances, but he did not capitalize on them. Other "Kruoja" players could have scored as well.

Nevertheless, "Banga" scored a goal – actively participating in the match, Aurelijus Staponka headed the ball into the net in the 35th minute (1:1).

After the conceded goal, "Kruoja" played better, but they were unable to create anything more dangerous in the first or second half.

A draw is like a defeat

After the match, Pakruojis resident Donatas Petrauskas said that the tough match was influenced by the sun and artificial turf: "We came for a victory, but we did not take our chances. A draw is like a defeat for us."

According to "Banga" debutant Rokas Borusas, "Kruoja" did not stand out in any way, and the hosts earned a deserved point, which they are very happy about.

"The result reflects the course of the match. In the first half, we didn't take advantage of another deadly opportunity, while the opponents did not miss theirs. In the second half, we took the initiative, controlled the ball, and had territorial advantage," commented "Kruoja" head coach Aidas Dambrauskas.

According to "Banga" coach Vaidas Žutautas, the point satisfies "Banga". The scored goal was very important for them: "It came at the right time, "Kruoja" hadn't gained momentum yet. If we hadn't scored, we would have had to attack, and "Kruoja" could have waited for chances for counterattacks."
