Italian national team coach Cesare Prandelli announced the final squad for the European Championship starting on June 8.
Goalkeeper Francesco Viviano, defenders Davide Astori, Salvatore Boccheti, and Domenico Criscito, as well as midfielders Luca Cigarini, Ezequiel Schelotto, and Marco Verratti, were the last to be removed from the list.
"At one point, I was planning to take even six forwards, but then I changed my mind," Prandelli said. "Now we will see what the results of our work will be."
The Italians will play in Group C together with Spain, Ireland, and Croatia.
