Club leaders seek to meet with coach Brendan Rodgers to discuss the possibility of taking over the team.
The search for a new strategist has been going on for several weeks, as Kenny Dalglish was relieved of his duties. However, filling this gap has not been successful yet.
The main contender is Roberto Martinez, who leads "Wigan." He has already discussed with "Liverpool" owner John W. Henry, but he personally arrived in Liverpool from the United States on Tuesday and would like to talk to other candidates.
Among them is 39-year-old Rodgers, but the leaders of "Swansea," who finished 11th in the Premier League, deny having received an official request to start negotiations. Earlier, the specialist himself rejected the opportunity to take over at "Liverpool," but, according to the BBC, he changed his mind as the list of candidates narrowed.
Among other contenders mentioned are Jurgen Klopp, who leads Dortmund's "Borussia," and Frank De Boer, the coach of Amsterdam's "Ajax," but they were not willing to change jobs.
Additionally, "Liverpool" is negotiating with Louis van Gaal for the position of sporting director.
