Gretas will be supplemented in the near future by Dortmund's midfielder Shinji Kagawa. The clubs have already agreed on the value of the deal, which will reach about 14 million euros, and according to additional conditions, could increase to 20 million euros.
23-year-old Kagawa still has to finalize personal contract details and put his signature on the documents. Interestingly, just a couple of years ago, Borussia acquired him from Osaka's Cerezo for a few hundred times less - just 35 thousand euros.
For a long time, the English team tried to attract Lille star Eden Hazard, but the Belgian chose London's Chelsea a few days ago. The 'Red Devils' decided not to delay and instead strengthen the midfield with Kagawa.
Last season, the Japanese player scored 13 goals in 31 matches in the German championship and helped the team defend the country's champion title and win the national cup.
Manchester United's Commercial Director Richard Arnold rushed to deny that Kagawa was acquired to maintain popularity in Asian countries: "We don't buy players to sell shirts. We have 25 very famous footballers. Practically 25 George Clooneys (famous American actor - ed. note). So success in various regions does not depend on one football player."
