They decided not to take advantage of the opportunity to redeem Fernando Gago's contract for 7 million euros, so the football player is returning to Real Madrid.
Last summer, the Italian team borrowed the midfielder for one season and, according to the agreement, paid the corresponding compensation until June 1 in order to sign a long-term contract with him. However, this option was not utilized.
Gago was called to the team by coach Luis Enrique, but he left his position at the end of the season, and the new coach Zdenek Zeman does not have the Argentine in his plans.
In Serie A, he played 30 matches, starting in 24 of them, and scored one goal.
