Vilnius football club "REO" is trying to make the most of the break in the Lithuanian A League championship and organized a training camp in the excellent leisure complex "Viva Green Resort", located in the picturesque outskirts of the capital, Nemenčinė pine forest, near Lake Gėla.
Here, the "REO" team spent the entire last week - living in a hotel and training intensively. "The team had ideal conditions for training and relaxation, there are no such places around Vilnius", - said Valdas Ivanauskas, a renowned football specialist consulting for "REO".
He hopes that the break in the championship will be beneficial for the team. "The recent results are satisfactory, but there were still gaps to be filled and good moments to be further improved. Therefore, such a camp, like for any professional team, is necessary," said V. Ivanauskas.
It was important for "REO" coaches to see how prepared and motivated the team was for future battles. "The preparation of some players did not satisfy us, and some key team players needed to restore their psychological and physical strength. Therefore, different tasks were set for the players during the training camp," said V. Ivanauskas.
According to V. Ivanauskas, the training camp was very productive. It followed the usual schedule of a professional team - training sessions and other activities took place from early morning to late evening. And at the end of the camp on June 1, "REO" played a friendly match against "VU-Vilmetos", which plays in the Vilnius county football championship. The match, played in pouring rain, ended in a 1:1 draw.
"The result of such matches is not very important. For us, the coaches, it was very interesting to see how the team coped with the training loads and how they looked after the camp. In addition, such matches help to maintain the weekly game rhythm," said V. Ivanauskas.
This week, "REO" will continue training in Vilnius, and their next A League match will be held on June 10 (Sunday) at 15:00 at the Vilnius "Žalgiris" stadium against Pakruojis "Kruoja".
