Vilnius for the European Football Championship ("Euro 2012") awaiting Ukraine was shocked - ten national team players were poisoned just before the tournament. Among the poisoned are the team leaders - defender Anatoliy Tymoshchuk and forward Andriy Voronin. "A.Tymoshchuk is still in very serious condition. He is constantly on a drip. This is really not funny. We have to wait for the doctors' conclusions, but the situation is very serious," regretted Ukraine's national team head coach Oleh Blokhin. The Ukrainian national team, preparing for "Euro 2012", was in camp in Austria and Germany. "I don't know what the team was poisoned with, because we all ate different food. We have a week to recover... We can only be glad that this did not happen on June 11," added O.Blokhin jokingly. It is on that day his protégés will start their battles in the "Euro 2012" championship against the Swedish national team. In group D, England and France will also play. Preparation for the tournament ended with two defeats for the Ukrainian national team - 2:3 to the Austrians and 0:2 to the Turks. Due to the absence of poisoned players, the second match could even have been cancelled. "If defender Bohdan Butko and goalkeeper Denys Harmash were not fit, I would have cancelled the match against the Turks due to the lack of players," affirmed O.Blokhin.
