After recovering from a serious thigh injury, "Barcelona" forward David Villa is convinced that the new team strategist Tito Vilanova is competent enough and will cope well with the new challenges.
According to the footballer, there is no doubt that such changes in the Barcelona team manager position are a well-planned step.
"I think everything was agreed in advance. It had to be a well-considered decision made after consulting with Josep Guardiola," said the thirty-year-old Spaniard.
42-year-old T. Vilanova was appointed as the head coach of "Barcelona" somewhat unexpectedly on the same day when J. Guardiola officially announced his departure after training the Catalan club for four seasons.
David Villa, continuing his rehabilitation from a broken leg, was not called up to the Spanish national team, which will soon defend the champions of the Old Continent in Poland and Ukraine, but the forward is not too worried about it. The player himself contacted "Furia Roja" coach Vicente del Bosque and asked not to be invited to the national team.
"I did everything possible, but I felt that I would not be able to properly prepare for the European Championship battles. However, in July, "Barcelona" will start preparing for the new season, so I understand that I must be in the best shape," David Villa said confidently.
