After the 16th round match of the "General Financing A league" between Marijampolė's "Sūduva" and Klaipėda's "Atlantas", fksuduva.lt spoke with both team coaches and Marijampolė club striker Povilas Lukšys.
The head coach of the "Sūduva" team, Virginijus Liubšys, spoke after the match:
"The first half was quite difficult, it was good that we scored a goal at the end of it. When you don't play for 18 days, except for one friendly match, you always feel some tension. In the second half, we did what we planned, managed to score goals. We earned three points and that was the most important thing today. Now there are difficult championship matches ahead with Pakruojis "Kruoja" team. In the first half, we lacked sharpness in attack, too few players participated in the finish. The wingers did not play as I wanted."
The head coach of the "Atlantas" team, Romualdas Norkus:
"In the first half, we tried, but one player made a mistake in added time and we conceded a goal before the break. The second half was a nightmare. If the team's best player is the reserve goalkeeper, if the 1994-born midfielder is the best, there is nothing more to add. I don't know the reasons - equipment, lack of preparation, or other reasons. In other countries, players of losing teams do not have peace, but our players feel too calm. I think you have to earn money. We "scored" all the goals ourselves today. We could have conceded even more if it wasn't for the goalkeeper."
"Sūduva" team striker Povilas Lukšys:
"In the first half, our game was a bit scattered. It was good that we managed to score a goal at the end of the half. In the second half, everything was good, we played relaxed. We could have scored more goals. I had to work hard until the goal, but later everything went well. The opponent was not the strongest, but we respect every opponent.""
