The first victory in the European Championship was won by the English national team, after a close battle they beat Sweden 3-2 and buried the Scandinavian hopes of reaching the quarterfinals.
Roy Hodgson's team climbed to second place in the tournament table with 4 points and in the last round they will only need to avoid losing to the tournament hosts Ukraine. Meanwhile, the Swedes, who have not earned any points, will face France in their final group match and will finish last in the group.
