Angry Mourinho: Spain is not "Barcelona" © EuroFootball.com

Madridthe coach Jose Mourinho angrily reacted to the comparison of the Spanish national team with clubs.

The European and world champions achieved several impressive results in the 4-0 victory in the second Group C match against Ireland: they completed a total of 859 accurate passes, with Xavi alone making 136. Both results are new records for the Old Continent championships.

Despite such similarities with Barcelona's playing style, Mourinho said: "There is a lot of talk about this club and the national team, but there are also five Real players in it.

"I don't understand why these things are being mixed up. Spain is not Barcelona. Barcelona was the champion of Spain. I will repeat: was, because at the moment it is no longer."

However, the Portuguese considers this national team as the favorite of the tournament: "The Spaniards are the champions of the planet, so there is no doubt about their favorites status. Along with Germany and a few other teams, they will compete for the first place."
