Robben: the main problem of the Netherlands - a big ego in the dressing room © EuroFootball.com

Dutch national team forward Arjen Robben insists that the reason for the poor results in the European Championship is "big egos". "The Oranje" lost both of the first matches, but for now have not lost hope of breaking into the quarterfinals. To do so, they need to defeat Portugal on Sunday and hope that Germany will beat Denmark. "In this group we are struggling because we have too many big egos," said Robben. "After a successful World Cup those egos grew even more. This fact complicates the situation." And he continued: "If you want to achieve something as a team, you need to push aside ego. We must fight as one fist. I hope the Germans will win, and we, forgetting negative emotions, will fight till the end." The Bayern Munich football player also said: "When you don't make it into the starting eleven, you are allowed to be angry. It's normal, you can individually talk to the coach. But once you step onto the field, you need to be one team. When there are players who don't feel that spirit, it causes problems."
