The seventh victory in the tenth round of the Lithuanian Football Federation (LFF) First League matches was achieved by Jonava's "Lietava", who became the sole leader of the tournament with ten teams on Saturday by crushing Palanga's "Palangos" team 4-0 at home.
On Sunday, the opportunity to catch up with the league leader was missed by the "Trakai" footballers, who played 0-0 at home with the "Granitas" team. The "Trakai" club rose to second place with 20 points, reducing the gap from the leading Jonava's "Lietava" to just two points.
Kėdainiai's "Nevėžis" with 19 points dropped to third place, while "Granitas" with 18 points remained in fourth place.
Vilnius' "Polonija" club climbed to fifth place on the tournament table by defeating "Kėdainiai" footballers 5-1 at home. Vilius Zabarauskas scored four goals for the winners.
The "Šilutė" team achieved their third victory in the championship by defeating Kuršėnai's "Venta" footballers 4-1 in front of their own fans on Saturday.
The eleventh round of the LFF I League will be played next Saturday, and one match that was rescheduled from the fourteenth round will be played this Tuesday.
