The Discipline Committee of the Lithuanian Football Federation (LFF) on Monday reviewed the incidents during Saturday's Lithuanian Championship match between Gargzdai "Bangos" and Taurage "Tauro".

LFF expresses condolences to the "Bangos" team for the unfortunate injury suffered by defender Aleksandras Ivanauskas and wishes the footballer a speedy return to the lineup.

On the other hand, LFF notes that any violence against participants in matches is not justified and will not be tolerated.

On Monday, the LFF Discipline Committee discussed the record from the match inspector regarding an incident in the 73rd minute, when "Bangos" club official Donatas Ivanauskas, without the right, entered the field and later hit the field referee Gediminas Mazėika in the face.

For unsporting behavior and gross violations of Article 1 and points c) and e) of Article 2 of the LFF Discipline Code - hooligan actions or attacks on match participants - any sanction provided for in the code may be imposed.

By decision of the LFF Discipline Committee, D. Ivanauskas was fined 5,000 litas and banned from entering stadiums for one year during all competitions organized by the LFF or its authorized entities. In the future, for committing a similar violation, D. Ivanauskas may be prohibited from participating in any football-related activities.

According to Article 5 of Article 4 of the LFF Discipline Code, the club may also be held responsible when an official commits a particularly egregious violation. By decision of the LFF Discipline Committee, the "Bangos" club was fined a similar amount of 5,000 litas.

After assessing the situation, the LFF Discipline Committee found that the home team "Tauras" failed to properly ensure order and safety during the match. The club was fined 1,000 litas for this violation. These and other decisions can be appealed to the LFF Appeals Committee within 7 days.

Considering the recent incidents at stadiums, the LFF will take additional measures in the near future to ensure that such cases do not recur. LFF reminds clubs to strictly adhere to the requirements specified in the competition rules and licensing regulations.

Representatives of the clubs are invited to a meeting on Wednesday to discuss the implementation of security measures at stadiums during matches, address any issues that arise, and explore possible solutions.
