The draw of the LFF Cup's second stage pairs determined that the fan team "Pietū IV" of VMFD "Žalgiris" will face the Vilnius "Polonija" team competing in the I League.
Sixteen pairs of the 2012/13 Lithuanian Football Federation (LFF) "Carlsberg" Cup second stage have been revealed. The pairs were determined by Vilnius "Prelegentai" team represented by one of the most successful football players of our country, Edgaras Jankauskas, in the first stage of the tournament.
Out of 32 teams, 16 are from Vilnius, comprising eleven teams. The second stage also includes newcomers of the I League and clubs from the II League.
Undoubtedly, the most interesting match will be between the fan team "Pietū IV" of the Vilnius City Football League "Žalgiris" and the Vilnius "Polonija" teams. These teams met face to face in the second stage of the LFF Cup last year. That time "Polonija" celebrated victory with a score of 5:4 in a high-scoring match.
The team of Žalgiris fans competes in the Sunday Football League B1 division. They have achieved 7 victories in 10 played matches, suffered 2 defeats, and played one draw. Currently, "Pietū IV" holds the 2nd place in the SFL B1 division.
The Vilnius "Polonija," representing the Polish community, competes in the LFF I League. Having won 5 games out of 10 matches played and losing the same number of matches, they rank 6th in the league standings.
The matches of the 2012/13 LFF "Carlsberg" Cup second stage must be played by July 8.
