Captain of the England national team, Steven Gerrard, insists that in the quarter-final match against Italy it is necessary to stop the opponents' safe zone.
In this championship, the Italian game is successfully led by Andrea Pirlo, but the Liverpool defender does not underestimate other footballers.
"Scott Parker and I will have to try to control the center of the field," said Gerrard. "Italians have excellent footballers in this position, so if we give up the initiative, we will have huge problems."
He continued: "In this championship, our game is improving and getting stronger. Therefore, I believe we can overcome this magical barrier of the quarter-final. It is important to take advantage of the opportunity that rarely comes."
Gerrard also warned about the forward Mario Balotelli: "We all know Balotelli very well, we see him every week in the England championship. He is a great and dangerous player. We will need to pay special attention to him."
