Gareth Bale has signed a new four-year contract with the London club and will represent them at least until 2016.
It was said that the 22-year-old footballer could move to either Real Madrid or Barcelona, but by putting his signature on the contract, he tied his future with the English team.
"The club is progressing, and I want to be part of this process," said Bale. "I have been here for five years and enjoyed every minute. I love Tottenham and its fans."
The winger, who is in great athletic shape, was named the best player in the 2010-2011 and 2011-2012 Premier League seasons. Last season, he scored ten goals in 36 matches.
