Coach Blanc leaves the French national team © EuroFootball.com

Laurent Blanc is stepping down as the head coach of the French national team after the end of his contract.

The 46-year-old specialist has been working since 2010, when he replaced Raymond Domenech. However, he was unable to solve all of his predecessor's problems: during the recent European Championship, which the French finished with a defeat in the quarter-finals, there were conflicts in the team camp.

Nevertheless, before that, the French national team had not lost 23 consecutive matches, and this streak was ended by the failure against Sweden in the group stage.

The favorite to replace Blanc, who is linked to the London club Tottenham, is named Didier Deschamps. This coach does not hide his desire to leave the Marseille team.
