The Spanish national team triumphs - this country has become the first to successfully defend the title of European football champions.
After the final match against Italy, coach Vicente Del Bosque said: "This is an amazing generation of footballers. They have their roots. They know how to compete because they come from a country that knows how to play."
And continued: "Now we have great guys who are successfully continuing their careers abroad. This was previously impossible because clubs from other countries did not want to buy them. This era is wonderful for Spanish football."
The strategist credited the victory to Spain: "We dedicate our triumph to all the country's residents for whom this evening was special. I have already spoken to King Juan Carlos, he will receive the team tomorrow."
