One of the club's acquisitions this summer should be attacker Fabio Borini, according to the English press.
The new Liverpool team strategist Brendan Rodgers has previously worked with the Italian and sees him as an ideal candidate to strengthen the attacking line.
Although negotiations have been going on for some time now and an agreement has not been reached yet, Liverpool's officials are returning from Rome with an optimistic attitude. The value of the deal is expected to reach around 10 million euros.
Representing the Italian national team in the European Championship, but not making a significant appearance on the field, Borini scored nine goals in 24 matches in the Serie A last season.
