After long and complicated negotiations, Amsterdam finally agreed to sell defender Jan Vertonghen to the London club. The value of the deal is expected to be around 12 million euros.
In the near future, the 25-year-old Belgian will undergo a medical examination and sign a long-term contract.
"I am happy that this issue has finally been resolved and I won't have to think about it," said Vertonghen. "It's great that I will join the Tottenham team before the start of the preparation season."
A member of the Belgian national team who matured in the Ajax youth academy, Vertonghen scored 28 goals in over 220 matches.
