The new head coach of the French national team has officially been appointed as Didier Deschamps.
The 43-year-old specialist will replace Laurent Blanc, who resigned after the European Championship. In the tournament held in Poland and Ukraine, the French team reached the quarterfinals but were defeated by the future champions, the Spaniards.
Deschamps, who signed a two-year contract with the possibility of extending it for the same period, has been coaching the "Marseille" team for the past few years, but terminated his contract after the last season. It is said that the club is facing financial difficulties.
The new strategist will make his debut in the position on August 15, when France will play at home against the South American champion, Uruguay.
