John Terry accused of racism - acquitted (VIDEO) © EuroFootball.com

London captain John Terry has been acquitted in the case where he was accused of racially insulting Queens Park Rangers defender Anton Ferdinand.

The incident took place during a match between the two teams last October. Terry did not deny using offensive language towards Ferdinand, but insisted that he only repeated what he heard from the opponent.

The court's verdict states that there is no clear evidence of a racist attack, therefore in doubtful circumstances the only possible verdict is acquittal.

During the trial, several Chelsea players testified in Terry's favor: black players Ashley Cole, Salomon Kalou, as well as Petr Cech from the Czech Republic, Spanish player Fernando Torres, and others.
