Stambul's "Galatasaray" bought Madrid's defender Hamit Altintop for 3.5 million euros. The football player signed a four-year contract with the Turkish club.

The 29-year-old Altintop moved to Spain last summer, but he couldn't establish himself in the main lineup. He only managed to play five matches and score one goal.

"I cannot describe the joy I feel in words," said "Galatasaray" board member Abdurrahim Albayrak. "Hamit had other offers, so the negotiations were long."

Altintop has represented the Turkish national team 72 times.
