Scotland Cup tournament - despite a brilliant goal by David Cesnauskis, Edinburgh club had to admit Glasgow's advantage and did not reach the final, where their opponent "Dundee Utd" was already waiting.

Inspired by the victory against "Celtic" in the league games, several thousand "Hearts" fans arrived at Glasgow's "Hampden Park" stadium to support their team. The team's coach, J. Robertson, made one change compared to the last league game - one of the team leaders, P. Hartley, returned to the lineup, replacing M. Kiža in his position.

"Celtic" took the lead in the third minute when after a corner kick, C. Sutton sent the ball into the net with his head. At the beginning of the match, the guests from the Scottish capital struggled to compete against a Glasgow team eager for revenge, who had the initiative for a long time and could have doubled the result, but at the end of the first half, J. Hartson missed the target.

In the second half, David Cesnauskis entered the field after a substitution, but just four minutes later, "Celtic" were already leading by two goals - after lifting a corner kick, the ball bounced to C. Bellamy, and after his shot, the ball narrowly escaped the goalkeeper C. Gordon.

However, later "Hearts" goalkeeper redeemed his mistake by successfully blocking two attempts and saving his team from two more goals. Trying to revive the game, in the 58th minute, Edinburgh team's coach sent M. Kiža onto the field, but the visitors' hope was not rekindled by him, but by - after an hour of play, the Lithuanian with a great shot from 20 meters beat the opponent's goalkeeper.

"Hearts" recovered and tried to equalize the score, but despite Cesnauskis' good game, they failed to break through the Glasgow team's defense. "Celtic" advanced to the final, where they will meet the "Dundee Utd" club, after a tough battle on Saturday, defeating another Edinburgh team, "Hibernian", 2-1.

Three matches took place on Saturday in the Scottish Premier League - the team in fourth place, "Hearts", trailing by four points, unexpectedly lost 1-3 at home to "Motherwell", "Inverness" defeated "Kilmarnock" with a minimal advantage, and "Dunfermline", with A. Skerla playing the entire match, had to admit the superiority of "Dundee" in the battle for ninth place.
